Visit to Hong Kong
This week I am visiting Hong Kong to promote Australia's credentials as an investment location.
I will meet with key investors in Australian industry, government officials and speak at the Credit Suisse 19th Asian Investment Conference.
Australia abounds with investment opportunities in advanced manufacturing, services and technologies; infrastructure; agribusiness and food; energy and resources; and tourism and education.
The Coalition Government is focused on attracting investment into Australia to fund projects that will drive jobs and growth.
The three landmark free trade agreements the Coalition Government concluded with Korea, Japan and China have made Australia a more attractive country to invest in.
Australia's relationship with Hong Kong remains strong. Nearly 90,000 Australians live in Hong Kong, 75,000 people from Hong Kong live in Australia and more than 600 Australian businesses have offices in Hong Kong. Total two-way trade was $8.9 billion in 2014-15.
From Hong Kong, I will travel to Beijing for Australia Week in China – Australia's largest ever business mission.
