FTA Portal a winner

  • Media release

The Turnbull Government's innovative Free Trade Agreement Portal continues to win praise, having been awarded Best Applications Development at the Australian Government ICT Awards.

This online tool helps small and medium businesses take full advantage of the landmark free trade agreements (FTAs) Australia has with China, Japan and Korea.

Its free and accurate information on tariffs under the FTAs, and step-by-step guidance, help Australian businesses how to win in these important markets.

This award, along with the very positive feedback from industry since the Portal's launch, is a public recognition of the Portal's value to the Australian business community.

It also supports the Turnbull Government's decision to invest $1.8 million to expand the Portal to cover all of Australia's FTAs as part of the 2016-17 Budget.

The Portal is just one of the ways the Coalition is helping Australian businesses – from primary producers through to advanced manufacturers – take full advantage of the significant opportunities offered by the FTAs in order to create jobs and economic growth.
