Fifth Landing Pad finds a home
Berlin's Betahaus house will be the home of Australia's fifth Landing Pad – a place for Aussie entrepreneurs to launch their startup to the world.
With this final Landing Pad established, Australian startups now have the opportunity to access investment capital, networks, mentors and ideas in five key locations across the globe, from San Francisco to Shanghai, Singapore, Tel Aviv and now Berlin.
The Landing Pad program is part of the Turnbull Government's National Innovation and Science Agenda, designed to help Australian entrepreneurs bring their ideas to market and build high-growth and high-return enterprises.
Betahaus is one of Berlin's best-known locations for startups, bringing together international startups and major German and European corporations to facilitate investment opportunities and the nurturing and acceleration of new technologies and business ideas.
Betahaus aims to foster entrepreneurship, creativity, rapid prototyping and innovative product development.
Some of Germany's top companies – such as Bayer, Commerzbank, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Henkel, Lufthansa, RWE, SAP and Deutsche Post – have innovation centres in Berlin to take advantage of its unique environment for creative and innovative development.
Berlin, known for being a centre of innovation with a mature and successful startup ecosystem, will give our entrepreneurs access to a network of contacts and opportunities across the European Union and beyond.
The startup sector is an important contributor to our economy – entrepreneurship and innovation will be major drivers of job creation and growth into the future.
Australian startups that are ready to go global and by their very nature will disrupt the marketplace to achieve their potential as high-growth and high-return enterprises are encouraged to apply for the Landing Pad program through Austrade.
