Thisweek I will lead a delegation of Australian business leaders to Los Angeles.
Duringthe visit, I will meet senior US business representatives to promote Australiaas an investment destination. Our economy offers strong opportunities inindustries including tourism, infrastructure, resources and advancedmanufacturing.
Americaninvestment in Australia has grown by almost 40 per cent in the last threeyears, creating thousands of jobs. During the visit I will be working toattract more investment into Australia to create more Australian jobs.
Atthe Milken Institute Global Conference I will meet with senior executives froma range of major US and international companies that have an interest ininvestment opportunities in Australia. I will also appear on a keynotepanel to discuss the future of globalisation and international trade issues.
TheUnited States is both our number one source and destination for investment –with the two-way stock worth $1.45 trillion at the end of 2015.
Sincethe Australia – United States Free Trade Agreement came into force in 2005,two-way investment stock has grown by 128 per cent.
American companies are investing across our economy including inmining, financial services, manufacturing; and professional, scientific andtechnical services. This is creating thousands of Australian jobs.
Australia'seconomy is enjoying its 26th successive year of annual growth. The TurnbullGovernment is committed to driving further prosperity by growing trade andinvestment.
