Tourism Australia Board appointment
The Morrison Government ispleased to announce today, the appointment of Penny Fowler to the TourismAustralia Board of Directors.
Minister for Tourism SimonBirmingham said Mrs Fowler who is Chairman of the Herald and Weekly Times inMelbourne, Deputy Chair of The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and is on theAdvisory Board of Visy, would bring extensive consumer marketing experience tothe role.
"Mrs Fowler brings a wealthof experience with her and I trust will make an invaluable contribution toensuring Australia continues to be a highly desirable destination forinternational travellers," Minister Birmingham said.
"Australia's $136 billiontourism industry employs 1 in 13 Australians and Tourism Australia has a vitalrole in helping promote Australia as a leisure and business events destination.
"Mrs Fowler will replaceAndrea Staines, whose has made a significant contribution to the Board over thepast three years.
"I look forward to workingwith Mrs Fowler and the other Board members and thank Andrea Staines for hersignificant contribution to the work of the Board."
