Appointment of Consul Generals in Osaka and Milan

  • Media release

Today I am pleased to announce the appointment of two highly qualified individuals to lead Australian diplomatic posts in Osaka and Milan.

Margaret Bowen has been appointed to the role of Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in Osaka, Japan.

Ms Bowen has longstanding connections with Japan, and extensive experience in senior roles with Austrade, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Rachel White has been appointed to the role of Consul-General and Trade and Investment Commissioner in Milan, Italy.

Ms White has a wealth of experience in trade and investment policy, most recently as a Senior Investment Adviser at Austrade for the Americas Region.

These appointments will advance Australia’s trade and diplomatic interests and drive opportunities for stronger bilateral trading relationships.

I thank outgoing Consul-Generals and Trade and Investment Commissioners, Trevor Holloway (Osaka) and Naila Mazzucco (Milan) for their services in advancing Australia’s trade and investment efforts and deepening diplomatic ties across the globe.
