Productivity Commission Safeguards Inquiries into the Import of Processed Fruit Products and Processed Tomato Products - accelerated reports
26 September 2013
The Productivity Commission (the Commission) has found in its accelerated reports, Safeguards Inquiry into the Import of Processed Fruit Products and Safeguards Inquiry into the Import Processed Tomato Products, that provisional safeguard measures on these imports are not warranted.
The accelerated reports are part of wider inquiries. The Commission will continue to examine whether safeguard action against processed fruit and processed tomato product imports are warranted, with final reports due by 20 December 2013.
These reports were commissioned in response to a request from SPC Ardmona to introduce safeguard measures against imports of canned tomato and processed fruit products.
The Commission will continue to consult widely in its ongoing investigations. All interested parties are invited to make a submission.
Further details on the inquiries, including the terms of reference and copies of the accelerated reports, are available at www.pc.gov.au.
